The Nieman-Berkman Klein Fellowship in Journalism Innovation brings individuals to Harvard University to work on a specific course of research or a specific project relating to journalism innovation.

Grants to Ohio nonprofit organizations to address critical needs in eligible locations. Funding is intended to identify community needs, set strategic priorities, and promote projects that address systemic issues at their root. Grants may be used to support activities and programs related to enhancing Systems Capacity and advancing System Change. Eligible activities respond to housing, mental health, and public safety needs in Summit County.

Grants to Ohio nonprofit organizations in eligible locations for programs and projects that benefit low-income residents. Funding is intended to support proposals in the focus areas of education, healthcare, economic independence, and cultural activities. Priority will be given to requests for specific programs or projects. Organizations must be located in Cuyahoga County.

Fellowships of $30,000 and fellowships of $60,000 to USA, Canada, and International doctoral candidates and post-doctoral scholars for research related to East Asian studies. Funding is intended to support research in the history of technology and science in modern East Asia, primarily from the twentieth century onward. Other eligible focus areas include comparative studies of East Asia and the West as well as studies in related fields (mathematics, medicine, and public health).

Awards to USA English teachers at two-year colleges to recognize educational programs that improve language learning for students. The award program honors teachers for outstanding initiatives that help students achieve career, college, and personal goals. Program activities include curriculum, faculty development, and assessment.

Grants to Ohio nonprofit organizations for professional development and educational programs in eligible locations. The purpose of the program is to support adults preparing to enter the workforce, promote learning for young children, and provide academic support for students. Eligible organizations are located in Cuyahoga County and their services and facilities must primarily serve the residents of Cleveland.

Awards to USA and Canada organizations, businesses, groups, and individuals in recognition of an exceptional project that contributed to the public’s understanding and appreciation of history. Consideration will be given to activities such as media projects, exhibits, written works, and public programming completed within the last two calendar years.

Grants of $20,000 to USA junior faculty in social sciences and humanities fields who are pursuing tenure. Funding is intended for scholars who, in addition to teaching and researching in IHEs, are working to promote inclusivity on campus for underrepresented scholars and students. Funding is intended to free the time of junior faculty who have passed their mid-point review so that they may pursue tenure effectively while continuing to engage in campus leadership and service.

Grants of $50,000 to USA and Canada researchers to conduct research projects related to myocarditis. The purpose of the program is to improve the diagnosis and treatment of all forms of the disease. Funding is intended for research projects to test initial hypotheses and test preliminary data.

Grants to Ohio nonprofit organizations and public agencies for programs that benefit local residents in eligible locations. Program focus areas include arts and culture, education, civic affairs, and health and social services. Funding is intended for organizations located in Lorain County or to organizations doing work that have direct outreach to or impact in Lorain County.

Grants of $2,000 and in-kind support to USA schools and youth organizations to participate in a rocketry competition. Funding and support are intended to assist schools in initiating a program to build, design, and launch model rockets. Grantees will also receive a package of materials about rocketry and mentorship. Applicants must receive an official team number before applying. The application for a team must come from a single Title I school or a single U.S. incorporated non-profit youth organization (excluding the National Association of Rocketry, Tripoli Rocketry Association, or any other rocket club or organization).

Grants to USA, Canada, and International public and private high schools and occupational and tech centers to provide scholarships to high school students. The purpose of the program is to encourage students to pursue careers in manufacturing, enhance manufacturing training programs, and increase the availability of skilled workers in this field.

Grants of up to $3,000 and grants of up to $5,000 to USA, Canada, and International organizations and individuals for wildlife conservation and research projects. Funding is intended to cover direct expenses for activities focused on the conservation of freshwater turtles and/or tortoises.

Fellowships to USA postdoctoral and senior scientists for research projects related to science and technology. Prospective applicants must contact the proposed research adviser prior to submitting an application. The purpose of the program is to provide high-quality research opportunities to work with scientists and engineers in the Air Force.

Opportunity for USA, Canada, and International nonprofit, academic, and research institutions and businesses to participate in a challenge to devise AI applications that are globally beneficial. Applications within the following areas of interest are encouraged: education, environment, and open innovation.

In-kind support to USA, Canada, and International nonprofit organizations and start-ups that focus on women's health to improve brand recognition. Participants will receive assistance valued at $30,000 in the form of branding workshops, design instruction, and follow-up consultations.

Grants of up to $25,000 to USA, Canada, and International nonprofit organizations and for-profits, and Canadian provinces and municipalities for commemorative projects that honor Canada's servicemen. Funding is intended to support building new memorials or restoring or expanding existing memorials that commemorate the achievements and sacrifices of those who served Canada since Confederation during war, military conflict, and peace.

Grants and in-kind support to USA schools to host summer camps for middle and high school students. The goal of the program is to introduce students to a wide range of manufacturing processes and encourage employment in the field. In addition to the monetary awards, the Foundation provides each camp with curriculum guides for campers and instructors, customized T-shirts with camp and sponsors’ logos, licenses for the student version of SolidWorks software, marketing support, and other class materials as needed.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International research institutions for studies related to the management of solid waste. A pre-proposal must be submitted prior to applying. Research priorities include addressing the impacts of climate change, emerging contaminants, and advancing recycling.
